I hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics) from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia). I also completed a master’s degree in Education at the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), and both a master’s degree in Statistics (passed cum laude) and a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences at KU Leuven (Belgium). My research interests include educational assessment, prediction of academic performance in higher education, and educational data mining.
As part of my professional experience, I have taught different courses at the university level such as Research Methodology in Education, Quantitative Analysis in Social Sciences, and Educational Assessment. Additionally, I have been a consultant for the Colombian Ministry of National Education, the Colombian Institute for Educational Evaluation (ICFES), and several private foundations. My current affiliation is as Impact Measurement Research Scientist at the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico).
